His official debut project, A Tribe Called Grape, drops tomorrow.

The Bronx’s 15-year-old artist, Smooky Margielaa, has enjoyed an explosive tail-end of summer 2017. After being featured multiple times on the A$AP Mob’s Cozy Tapes: Vol. 2, the young spitter has garnered exponentially-increased interest and support. From receiving features in respected publications—like Mass Appeal, Pigeons & Planes, and XXL—to being dubbed A$AP Rocky’s next protege, the future is looking bright for the adolescent. Today, he teamed up with Atlanta’s JRich on “Shawty”, mixing a little New York flavor with a southern bite.

Part of Smooky’s undeniable allure is his ability to melodically ride wavy production, and how his voice naturally lends itself to an auto-tuned aesthetic. Borrowing similarities to guys like Quavo, Smooky delivers an airy flow that plays well with the trap production. “Shawty” drops ahead of Smooky’s official debut project, A Tribe Called Grape, scheduled for a 9/26 release.
