It’s all blood ties for the west coast group.

Bay Area’s SOB x RBE barged through hip-hop’s door in 2016 with an eccentric sound and even more unique personalities, officially gaining mainstream traction with their 2018 Black Panther The Album contribution, “Paramedic!”. A group of four tightly-knit friends, SOB x RBE is as much of a brotherhood as musical collective, whose palpable kinship populates in each release.

The Strictly Only Brothers clan deftly understands how fame and success can erode even the deepest bonds, forcing them to always maintain the familial perspective by never forgetting how they carved their lane in this competitive landscape: authenticity and unconformity.

In keeping with this theme, today, April 17th, SOB x RBE has linked with fellow west coast musician Hit-Boy for the collaborative project, Family Not A Group.

A nine-track project, Family Not A Group is their sixth project — one fans thought they would never witness.

Even the closest bonds suffer turbulence. Last year, it was rumored that the group would be disbanding in favor of members pursuing solo careers — Yhung T.O. started releasing solo projects in 2017, with four out in total.

Fortunately, staying true to their group’s name and philosophy, it seems like all members have found their way back to each other — and have welcomed Hit-Boy into the fold.
