Could TDE be adding a new member to the squad?

Read more on the story after the jump.

Top Dawg Entertainment’s (TDE) roster has remained airtight since its formation in 2004 by Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith. His first signee to the label was Jay Rock and shortly after Kendrick Lamar joined the team. It wasn’t until fellow Los Angeles rappers Ab-Soul and ScHoolboy Q were signed that the TDE brand we have come to know as today was fully established and a threat in the rap game. The lineup of Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and ScHoolboy Q remained that way for four years until Top Dawg signed the label’s first artist outside of Los Angeles in 2013, Chattanooga, Tennessee’s Isaiah Rashad. That same year Top Dawg signed yet another non-Los Angeles artist in SZA.

Now, it appears as though Top Dawg has his eyes on more talent. Earlier today Top Dawg tweeted a link to Chicago rapper Kembe X’s “Attention Deficit Disorder” and simply asked the fans if he was “TDE material” (see: image above). More than 100+ retweets later and fans are speculating whether or not Kembe X is actually a new member to the TDE team. After all this would make perfect sense seeing as Top Dawg has been venturing outside of Los Angeles to scout talent and Kembe X has had collaborations with both Ab-Soul and Isaiah Rashad.

I guess we will have to wait and see if Kembe X is, in fact, the newest addition to the TDE squad. Listen to Kembe X’s “Attention Deficit Disorder” below.
