The down south vibes are fully channeled here.

All eyes are on Ty Dolla $ign as the expert crooner readies his upcoming album. While details surrounding the release are still murky — the title and release date are still unknown — Ty has begun marketing it through interviews, singles, and now, videos. Recently, Ty dropped off the official visual for his Project Pat and Juicy J-assisted track, “Hottest In The City.”

The successor to the tranquil J. Cole-featured track “Purple Emoji,” “Hottest In The City” paints a stark contrast, channeling the sound of Juicy and Project Pat. Absorbing the overall down south ethos, in which Juicy J and Three 6 Mafia played an instrumental architectural role, the “Hottest In The City” video tours southern hip-hop staples — mainly by taking place in a neon-lit strip club.

Visually manifesting the song’s energetic sonics, the new video is a rollercoaster of an experience, and probably shouldn’t be watched by those with light sensitivities: strobe lights, shaking camera effects, bright graphics, and more structure this entertaining ride.
