Valee Releases Surprise EP, ‘Runnin’ Rich’

The trendsetting Chicago MC is back.

Chicago’s Valee ascended the hip-hop ranks last year thanks to his unique flow — co-opted by many of his peers — which culminated in a GOOD Music record deal. Following the signing, the “Wamp Wamp” trendsetter released the appropriately-titled EP, GOOD Job, You Found Me, featuring Pusha T on the “Miami (Remix).” While this release was succeeded by a handful of loosies and features, including his verse on YG’s recently-dropped “I Was On The Block,” Valee has been quiet on the project front — until now.

After receiving blowback from fans for dying his dog red, Valee has responded by doubling-down on the criticism: not only did he inform supporters that the hair dye is all-natural, but he made the painted pup the cover art for his new EP, Runnin’ Rich, released today, June 4th.

A seven-track offering, Runnin’ Rich features production from frequent collaborator ChaseTheMoney, as well as TYMadeIt, Narcowae, Valee himself, and more.

Hopefully, this small yet potent EP is just a precursor to a full-length project.
