Video: Music Biz 101 With Jim Jones…An In Depth Look

So we have done a couple stories touching on how Jim Jones has been teaching a music business class at a local Brooklyn high school.  I got to give it to Jim for pro actively giving back to the community.  I think it’s a lot more impressive when celebrities put their boots on the ground as opposed to just throwing some money at a charity.  These clips are a great introductory view of the music business.  What they don’t talk about is how a lot of these major music companies are spending more money then they are making.  That’s called being in the red, and it’s why the music business is in turmoil.  Spotted at Fuse.

New Music: The Doppelgangaz – “Jail Weight” feat. Jim Jones

The Doppelgangaz meet The Diplomats. Now repeat that ten times over. Anyway, the New York duo of The Doppelgangaz (Matter Ov Fact and EP) are linking up with Mr. Capo himself, Jim Jones, for "Jail Weight." The track is set to appear on The Gangaz forthcoming project titled Parts Unknown. Jones and Gangaz together actually kinda works, even in spite of the initial "WTF" when seeing those two on the same track. Check out The Doppelgangaz' "Jail Weight" after the jump.

In case you haven't heard, The Diplomats are back. The return of OG Dipset members Jim Jones, Freekey Zeeky, and Juelz Santana together so far has been promising with the Harlem squadron dropping the awesome "Have My Money" loosie and now a gloomy, aggressive, and downright murderous freestyle over The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Victory." Thanksgiving is here! Thanksgiving is here! But it's not all fun and games and stuffing your face with food. While we sit comfortably in our humble abode with our loved ones, celebrating with a feast, there are those who go out and make sure to help those in need. Sadly, however, rappers aren't exactly the first profession that'd cross your mind as being "helpful" as these are merely gangsters, drug dealers, and entertainers, right? Wrong. For example Birdman and Cash Money are participating in their 20th annual Turkey Giveaway this week. And that's not all, as rappers like Jeezy, T.I., and Ludacris regularly find themselves helping local Atlanta natives enjoy their Thanksgiving as well. So, we here at iHipHop decided we'd attempt to dispel the myths of rappers being careless and lazy, and showcase their good deeds, by assembling a picture slideshow of them giving back on Thanksgiving.
