Each year, the esteemed XXL selects a fortunate 10 artists to represent their Freshman Class. A venerable honor held by greats like Kid Cudi and Lupe Fiasco, the XXL Freshman nod consistently acts as an apt barometer in assessing burgeoning hip-hop talent.
Recognizing, however, that there might be artists who are either overlooked or don’t populate their radar, XXL solicits fans to vote on the coveted 10th and final spot. Well, it’s time for fans to don their A&R hats as XXL is preparing their 2019 list and looking seeking the fan-voted artist.
Notable artists campaigning for the 2019 XXL Freshman class include Skinnyfromthe9, Yella Beezy, Q Money, and plenty more.
The 2018 class included: Ski Mask The Slump God, Lil Pump, Smokepurpp, J.I.D, Stefflon Don, BlocBoy JB, YBN Nahmir, Wifisfuneral and Trippie Redd.
