The YBN crew might be more in the headlines lately due to scuffles and robberies of member Almighty Jay, but YBN Nahmir — the artist who ostensibly put them on the map with his 2018 hit, “Rubbin Off The Paint — is intent on redirecting their trajectory back to their musical roots. The 19-year-old artist is back with a new loosie, “Baby 8.”
Released as a Worldstar-released video, “Baby 8” finds Nahmir unapologetically flaunting his desensitized state of conscious mindset. From how his thoughts encourage his ethically questionable actions to talking about his personal and artistic growth — he raps, “I used to want clout, then I grew up from that phase” — Nahmir uses the terse “Baby 8” to assert his — and presumably his groups, too — prowess.
