After Busta Rhymes departed from Aftermath for his new home Universal Motown there were various rumors circulating that the rapper had left after a huge argument with Interscope boss Jimmy Iovine. No comment was made by either party if such an incident had taken place. But in a recent interview Bussa Bus says that there was no argument between himself and Jimmy at all and in fact when he voiced his concerns in how his impending album was being handled Iovine let him leave and with something of value too.
Busta: “Just for the record, there was no heated argument with me and Jimmy Iovine. When I realised that I wasn’t getting the things that I felt that I needed facilitated from the record company at the time, I set up a meeting to speak with Jimmy Iovine and we had a sit-down with each other. It was kind of a mutual agreement and a mutual understanding. And with that kind of support and understanding, I actually sing Jimmy Iovine’s praises because not only did he let me leave, but he let me leave with my album.”
Busta’s next album Back on my BS, the one Jimmy let him keep is due for release on March 24th. The album features appearances by Linkin Park, Estelle, Ron Browz, Missy Elliot and Mary J Blige and production lies in the capable hands of Dr Dre, Mr Porter, Cool and Dre and Don Cannon to name but a few.

i’m gonna say that it’s a clever move from busta. he needs a new record, a new management…
Oh wow, that levine son is so coo. Do you think Busta is lying?
this is just a normal career move for an artist…nothing personal for busta
It’s very nice of Busta to initiate a talk with Jimmy…so as not to get affected with distorted news around.
Everybody changes manager once in a while. Love Busta Music!
I’m excited of his new album…and Linkin Park has a participation. Sure it will be a big bit!
whatever maybe the case, i miss me some busta… either in the movies or in the music biz. he needs to be where he’s gonna get some.
it’s a good thing he speaks up with jimmy, to clear things and maybe there’s really nothing personal on it for him to further argue.
