C-Murder was convicted of ….murder, back in 2003 for the shooting death of 16-year old Steve Thomas on January 12, 2002. But the conviction was tossed by judge Martha Sassone after she find out that prosecutors withheld criminal background information on their witnesses from C-Murder’s attorney. In March 2006, Sassone set C-Murder’s bail at $500,000 and ordered him to house arrest.
Now, C-Murder will be retried on those murder charges with the trial beginning on February 11, 2008. The rapper faces a mandatory life sentence with no chance of parole.
During his ordeal, C-Murder has found time to write. Earlier this year, he released his first novel, “Death Around the Corner”. In 2005 and 2006, the rapper also released a couple of albums. There’s no word on what projects he’s currently working on.
