      Nowadays, hip-hop is just a bit inappropriate for kids under 18 so Target has teamed up with GMG Entertainment to create hip-hop kids can listen to. The Target CD Lil Jams is an all hip-hop and R&B album that features some of kid-friendly hip-hop hits recreated by children. As an added bonus, the disc’s lone original cut “My New Boyfriend” is performed Sierra Simone and produced by her dad Cee-Lo (of Goodie Mob and Gnarls Barkley).
      "I’m very excited about Lil’ Jams, especially since it features my first single, "My New Boyfriend," said 16-year-old Simone who also appeared on an episode of MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen last year (she was turning 15 though). ”Hip-hop is what’s up, so what better way to offer kids this form of music than to let them have a voice and sing the songs themselves. It’s for kids of all ages, by kids."
Here’s the tracklist to the album:

"Jump," originally performed by Kriss Kross;
"Crazy," originally performed by Gnarls Barkley;

      "We remain committed to providing our guests, of all ages, fresh and exciting merchandise at the value they expect from Target," said Darrell Tucker, vice president, Target. "The Lil’ Jams CD is a compilation of the hottest songs, from yesterday and today, catering to both the increasingly sophisticated tastes of our younger guests, and their parents’ desires for hip, family-friendly music."
