Let the DaBaby 2020 campaign begin.

Sound the alarm: DaBaby is back with his first single of the new year, “Shut Up.”

Released alongside a Reel Goats-directed video, DaBaby’s go-to video production team, “Shut Up” cleverly starts off with a funny message: “Dear 2020, My name is Jonathan but people call me “Baby”. Now I know what we me and 2019 had was special, but that’s nothing compared to what I have planned for you girl. I was gonna wait until Valentine’s Day and be a player about it but fuck it, ima go head and let you know now… you’re mine for the next 10 Months and 22 Days.”

From there, DaBaby goes on to explain how he plans on taking over 2020: simply put, it’s a formula comprised of an unparalleled work ethic. Booking more tour dates, challenging his artistry, collaborating with unlikely collaborators, among other signifiers, formulates how the KIRK rapper aims to capitalize off his monumental 2019 campaign.

Replete with cameos from the likes of The Jabbawockeez, Diddy, Meek Mill, and Kanye, the “Shut Up” video adheres to a “show and prove mentality” — after all, talk is cheap. Baby ain’t about that.

Let the DaBaby 2020 onslaught officially begin.
