Don Trip “Like Me”

Lil Durk is sitting on a hit with "Like Me" from his debut album, Remember My Name. The kid's come a long, long way -- from the streets of Chicago to the big stage -- and it's nice to see someone getting out of trouble. Unfortunately the album isn't all that hot and I'm not feeling the new direction Durk has gone in. I prefer his work on Life Ain't Joke or the first installment to his Signed to the Streets mixtape series. Either way, "Like Me" is a pleasant enough track, and the additions of Jeremih, Lil Wayne and bona fide superstar Fetty Wap are good to set the track over. In case you haven't heard, 2015 kicked off with the return of Harlem's beloved Dipset. The group dropped a stellar cut in "Have My Money" and followed that up with their "Victory" freestyle, which is equally dope. Their return has sparked some nostalgia and that's all gravy because we here at iHipHop often find ourselves reminiscing about simpler times. Chief Keef, who was probably no more than eight years old when Dipset dropped their iconic Diplomatic Immunity record, is nevertheless paying tribute to the supergroup. Keef has dropped a track entitled "Dipset." The tribute to Cam and company is set to appear on Keef's upcoming DJ Holiday-hosted Dedication mixtape. Check it out after the jump!

Comparatively the Kevin Gates we see on the cover of Luca Brasi 2 is a different man from the one we first became acquainted with on the cover of The Luca Brasi Story in early 2013. And that's fair because Gates has had himself a productive year; signing to Atlantic Records, releasing two critically-acclaimed mixtapes, and even becoming a father for the second time. But on his latest offering from the forthcoming Luca Brasi 2, "Thugged Out," Kevin Gates is in his usual fatalist, dope boy mode.
