The Major League Baseball Season officially jumped off with the Boston Red Sox hosting the New York Yankees. The Red Sox defeated the Yankees 7-9 at Fenway Park. Besides a great game the stars were out in full force. Kerri Hilson sang the national anthem. Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith and a Boston-area resident, sang “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch.

Neil Diamond, whose “Sweet Caroline” is played at Fenway after the top of the eighth, then stepped onto the field along the right-field line to sing it in person. The main attraction was super producer Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records The two were there to promote the $400 a pair Beats By Dre headphones head phones. Dre got to bat during warm up and when asked about the batting experience he said “Intimidating.”
