Drake Sends Shots at Kanye During Tour’s Chicago Leg

“And then Kanye flopped!”

Once good friends and frequent collaborators, Drake and Kanye’s relationship has strained in the recent months. Emanating from Ye’s indirect involvement in the Push – Drizz feud, by supplying the “Infrared” production, Drake and Ye have been leveraging their respective summer projects for subliminal disses. And while Kanye has deemed the beef “squashed”, it doesn’t seem like both parties are in agreement.

While performing the Chicago leg of his “Drake and The Amigos” tour, the “In My Feelings” rapper strategically used Kanye’s hometown stadium as the platform to voice his disdain towards the GOOD Music founder. Rapping “Know Yourself” to an elated crowd, Drizz replaced the lyrics “then Kanye dropped” with “then Kanye flopped”. Given their summer album performances, where ye sold 85k first-week units to Drake’s 732k, this lyrical substitution is apt, and perhaps has forced some sweat beads to trickle down Kanye forehead.

Several weeks ago, after telling Drake to “calm down you’re light skin” on ye’s “No Mistakes”, Kanye recalibrated this quarrel’s trajectory by declaring Drake as the game’s current number-one rapper–a puzzling sentiment given Yeezy’s ballooned ego and this beef. However, upon further review, it seems like the lofty accolades placed upon the 6 God were more of a strategic business decision for Kanye rather than genuine admiration. Kanye knows that Drake is the biggest popstar on planet earth, and, for fear of not being on world’s biggest star’s good side, didn’t want their personal squabbles to inhibit his own future commercial appeal. It looks like Drake has no intentions of being a springboard for Kanye, like he’s been in the past.

For now, given this Chicago performance, it seems that Drake wants no part in rehabilitating their friendship. The jury is out on whether or not they’ll patch-up this feud.
