That’s right, kids. You have all been made to wait in vain. Despite earlier promises that his first album in eight years will be out in September, Dr. Dre’s long-anticipated Detox will not see the light of the day this year. XXL’s Editor-in-Chief Elliott Wilson said in a blog post yesterday that Dre was on schedule to cover the 10th anniversary issue of the magazine (he was replaced by Lil Wayne and Birdman).
The Dre cover would’ve officially announced his return to the rap game. Unfortunately for chronic g-funkers everywhere, Detox is now tentatively slated for release in the first quarter of 2008.
