Megan Thee Stallion, arguably Texas’ hottest rapper at the moment, follows up her MEGAN album with a deluxe version, MEGAN: ACT II. Deluxe might be an understatement: Meg packages twelve fresh, new tracks in this “deluxe” project. The focus track, “Bigger In Texas,” which happens to be the first track on the project, feels like an ode to 2000’s Texas rap. The production draws inspiration from UGK and Paul Wall, and Meg proves she’s more than up to the challenge. The track shows Meg’s versatility and may be more digestible for fans of old school hip-hop.
Meanwhile, Gucci Mane’s latest single sees ATL and St. Louis connect as he and Sexyy Red trade fiery verses on “You Don’t Love Me.” The hook sees the two come together in a call-and-response style, showing off their innate chemistry. Fans have to appreciate Gucci’s consistency in dropping music: since he was released from prison in May 2016, the Lemonade rapper has 20 projects and countless singles. Check out his collaboration with Sexyy Red on the Forever Cold playlist now.
