Headlining the 11/8 Forever Cold playlist are Cordae, Joey Bada$$, Real Boston Richey, Young Nudy, and A$AP Ferg.
In preparation of his upcoming album Crossroads, Cordae gives us yet another single to add to our rotation. This time, he teams up with fellow lyricist Joey Bada$$ for “Syrup Sandwiches.” It feels like a very appropriate collaboration given their images and proclivity to prioritize lyrical content. They trade verses over a chilled out instrumental which suits their styles well. Cordae is arguably the most underrated rapper of this generation: he exudes confidence and charisma, drops real bars, and above all else, makes infectious music.
Meanwhile, Real Boston Richey, one of Florida’s most exciting and talented up and coming rappers, drops his latest album Richey Rich. The 24-track project sees Richey handle most of the work, with notable features from Lil Yachty and GloRilla. When Future signed him to his Freebandz imprint, he clearly saw something in the young emcee, and it looks more and more like a bet that will pay off handsomely. Richey switches styles on a lot of the tracks, making for an album that’s exciting and fresh. Don’t worry, he’s still got the street anthems for all his OG fans.
