Gunna returns with his latest single “Bittersweet.” The track sees the Atlanta native ride across somber guitar-driven production. Gunna’s return to the forefront of rap is anything but expected: in a genre that is so predicated on street credibility, his taking a plea deal was surely a death sentence for his career, however he has seamlessly protected his reputation as a hitmaker and prevailed against the odds. “Bittersweet” is just the latest addition to his ever growing catalog.
Meanwhile, the leader of the new wave of rap, Yeat, drops his latest full length project “2093.” With only two features from Future and Lil Wayne, the project sees the Portland native almost all of the heavy lifting. Production credits are distributed across some of the genre’s finest, from GeoGotBands to Synthetic, and Yeat himself even has a few credits. If you want to be up to date with the current direction of rap, this album is a must listen.
