It’s not often two GOATs team up for a full-length project, so it might be early and overzealous to say this: “WE DON’T TRUST YOU” will be the best rap album of the year. Yes, I know we have other big names dropping albums this year, but this album is an ode to what made 2016 to 2018 one of the greatest, if not the greatest, three year span in rap. Metro’s production on the album is flawless: it’s tight, open, unique, and allows the perfect amount of space for Future to walk on all of these beats.

This album has everything you would want from Future and Metro: whether you want uptempo, braggadocious bars or slowed, grab a joint music. A couple highlights on the album include Future’s solo track “Claustrophic,” Kendrick Lamar’s heat-seeking verse on “Like That,” and the back half of “Everyday Hustle.” Honestly, those three highlights don’t say enough about how impressive this album is from a sonic standpoint. It could be Future’s best work to date. Dive in now.
