Snoop Dogg has recently spoke out about the impending documentary Crips and Bloods: Made in America, which has been showing in NYC this week before moving around the country to select cities such as Seattle, Los Angeles and Chicago. The documentary which was viewed at various Film Festivals throughout the world, including Sundance is narrated by Forrest Whitaker and shows an in depth view to the relationship between the two rival gangs which has spanned forty years.
The Stacy Paralta directed drama that looks closely at the streets of South Central aspires to bring ‘a message of hope and a cautionary tale of redemption aimed at saving the lives of a new generation of kids, not just in South LA but anywhere in the world that gang violence exists.’
In an interview with LA DJ Skee, Snoop Dogg a self proclaimed Crip said “This movie is showing us that we need to stop doing what we wanna do and become one and start doing for each because they’re taking everything away from us.”
Others involved in the making of this film are Baron Davis, Quincey Jones III, Cash Warren and Gus Roxburghe.
