After last year’s album, “Laugh Now, Cry Later”, quick appearance and then disappearance, it looks like Ice Cube is digging himself deeper into the movie side of things. According to Variety, the rapper has signed on to produce and star in “Comeback.” Based on a true story, the film follows a former high school football star (Cube) who takes his niece under his wing as she becomes the first female quarterback in Pop Warner football history. The 11-year-old QB, Jasmine Plummer, led her team to the Pop Warner tournament, and became the first female to play in the tournament’s 56-year history.

Cube is also developing a remake of Welcome Back Kotter and Tough Love, which is a story inspired by the life of former New England Patriots player Tebucky Jones. Fred Durst, Limp Bizkit frontman, is in talks to direct “Comeback.”
