Over 100 acts have signed on to participate, while only Kanye West seems to be left off the list. Besides Jay-Z and U2, The acts include Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and many, many more. Jay-Z and U2 will perform a special brand new song featuring both acts, produced by Swizz Beatz, that is to be released on iTunes soon with all proceeds going to benefit Haitan relief.
Here’s a quote from The Edge, U2‘s guitarist, about recording the track with Jay-Z:
“Bono got a call from a producer, Swizz. He and Jay-Z wanted to do something for Haiti. So, Bono came up with the phrase on the phone, and last night we wrote a song — finished, recorded, and sent it back to them.”
