55224383Jay-Z is set to headline this year’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, TN.  The festival, now in its ninth year, is famous for it’s roots in the jam band world with bands such as Phish, Dave Matthews Band and the Disco Biscuits, but broadened its scope  in the past few years to feature more indie, electronic, mainstream and hip hop music, with headliners ranging from Beastie Boys to Radiohead to Metallica to Bruce Springsteen.  This year’s festival will feature more hip hop than in years past, with Jay-Z, Damian Marley & NasWale, Kid Cudi all currently confirmed to perform, along with rumored sets by Mos Def (solo) and Blackrok (Black Keys are already confirmed for a regular set).  Obviously, with the addition of Jigga as headliner, the hip hop influence has trickled down the lineup to bring one of the most impressive lineups of up-and-coming hip hop names at any major festival this year.  There is still potential for more acts to be added, as Bonnaroo has decided to reveal their lineup today  one-by-one on their myspace page, while also asking performers to make their own announcements today on sites like Facebook, Myspace and Twitter.  Bonnaroo also tends to make multiple rounds of artist additions leading up to the festival.  Below is a list of the full announced lineup so far, and check HERE throughout the day and upcoming months for more artist additions to this unique yearly event.
