The saga surrounding Kanye West’s heavily-anticipated forthcoming album, Yandhi, has undergone a metamorphosis, becoming a living, breathing entity unto itself. Originally scheduled to be released earlier in September 2018, and then again in November, the successor to Kanye’s Ye album has received the predicted album roll-out strategy: announcement, excitement, delay, new album release date, excitement, delay, delay, questioning its existence, announcement, excitement.

Having taken us along as complicit passengers–who could be confused for kidnapped victims–on the Kanye West roller coaster ride, Ye seemingly always finds a way to recapture our hearts and intrigue amid questioning his motives and methods. While the continued album delays might be interpreted as Yandhi’s mythicality, recent news debunks this–in stellar fashion.

It was recently reported that Kanye was seen working in Miami with some of today’s most sought-after talent–and some of his favorite collaborators throughout his storied career. Recording out of his $14mm South Beach condo, Kanye has been creating with the likes of Migos, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Timbaland, among others; burgeoning artists, like Tee Grizzley and YNW Melly, have also been spotted at the tropical artistic hideout.

For now, an official release date–like that holds any weight–still eludes us, but it’s promising to know that Kanye is taking his time, working with some of the industry’s brightest minds, to create another addition of, hopefully, timeless music.
