The teenage sensation continues to impress.

Lil Tjay, the Bronx upstart, is enjoying a meteoric rise. Boasting enviable streaming numbers throughout the past year — with hits like “Brothers” and “Ruthless,” currently sitting at 63mm and 25mm Spotify plays, respectively — the 18-year-old artist has officially arrived. Continuing to demonstrate his value in the game, Lil Tjay has come through today with his new single, “Hold On.”

Released in the midst of a crowded “New Music Friday,” including DaBaby’s Kirk and Kevin Gates’ I’m Him, Tjay’s new single manages to still stand out. The fans have spoken — Lil Tjay is here to stay.

Donning his auto-tuned crooning hat, Lil Tjay speaks from soul on “Hold On,” talking on close ones being locked up and his current mental state. While he’s channeling his singing aesthetic on this one, he still manages to lace the JD On Tha Track beat with clever lines, such as, “And they know I’m throwing bullets, Tell the opps to go long.”

At only 18-years-old, Lil Tjay seems to have a bright future ahead of him.
