The world may be getting hooked on the Twitter addiction, (and it is addictive), but Milwaukee Bucks head coach Scott Skiles could care less about the new social network craze that’s sweeping the Internet—just ask Bucks’ forward, Charlie Villanueva.
The 6’11” former UConn star got a stern talking to by his coach when he found out that Villanueva had posted a “Tweet” from his cell phone during halftime at Sunday’s home victory against the Boston Celtics.
“We made a point to Charlie and the team that it’s nothing we ever want to happen again,” Skiles said after practice Tuesday. “You know, (we) don’t want to blow it out of proportion. But anything that gives the impression that we’re not serious and focused at all times is not the correct way we want to go about our business.”
Using the screen name “CV31,” which is Villanueva’s initials and jersey number, he posted the following message during halftime Sunday:
“In da locker room, snuck to post my twitt. We’re playing the Celtics, tie ball game at da half. Coach wants more toughness. I gotta step up.”
Obviously sending that message out did the trick because the 4-year pro from Queens, New York finished with 19 points in the win.
But next time you want to send a “Tweet” out, here’s some advice: Try doing it after the game…
