Mixtape Download: ILL Bill & Steven King “Fathers Of Violence”

13 years ago view-show 2,850,903

I’ve been an ILL Bill fan long enough to know that Steven King is not the author of countless thrillers.  In recent months, King’s raised his profile by doing collaborations with Kool G Rap and Statik Selektah.  Years ago, King sounded an awful lot like 50 Cent; but for better or for worse, King’s managed to find his own voice.  He goes in on “I Attack” with lines like “I’m trying to live fat like the belly of Rick Ross” and Bill kills it on “In Da Hood.”  King also adds a nice verse to the remix of “Gangsta Rap,” but the beat doesn’t knock as hard as the original Necro production.  Oddly enough, Fathers Of Violence features King’s most notable appearances, 2003’s “Howie Made Me Do It” and “The Drug Dealer Freestyle. This definitely isn’t Bill’s best work to date and Fathers mostly profiles Steven King, but IT’S FREE, so if you don’t like a track, just delete it.
