Model Accuses Jason Kidd of Groping

New Jersey Nets’ point guard Jason Kidd now has more than his team’s losing streak to worry about. A 23-year old model has filed a lawsuit against the star player for allegedly groping and threatening her at a Manhattan club. The lawsuit accused Kidd of "battery and assault," alleging that he grabbed the model’s buttocks and crotch several times on October 10, 2007. According to the woman’s attorney, she instructed him to "Get off me!" and things got so ugly that Kidd had to be pulled away from club bouncers.

Kidd’s lawyer, Paul Grand, dismissed the lawsuit as an attempt to extort money from the NBA star who takes home an estimated $20 million a year. "This lawsuit is nothing more than a brazen and defamatory search for a payout." The woman in question has asked for unspecified compensatory charges.

 As we previously reported, Jason Kidd is in the middle of a divorce. He claimed in his divorce papers earlier in January that he was a victim of spousal abuse.
