New Music: DOOMStarks – “Lively Hood”

Remember DOOMStarks? Or, MF Doom and Ghostface Killah’s long-gestating, infinitely-delayed collaborative project? Me either. But guess what, evildoers? They’re back with “Lively Hood,” a track that finds the two rap heavyweights going bar-for-bar over a plucky vintage beat. It’s a neat lil’ track, which judging from the sound of it — as well as both Doom and Killah’s flow) — is a throwback from years back; when the two first announced their collaborative project Swift and Changeable. It’s also worth noting that “Lively Hood” is part of [adult swim]’s singles series, which has given us everything from Danny Brown & Clams Casino to Shabazz Palaces so far this year.
