As Pharoahe Monch prepares for the release of his new album, Desire, on June 26, the rapper has hooked up with the Guns 4 Cameras organization for a national college speaking tour. The Guns 4 Cameras organization invites at-risk youth to turn in guns and rifles – no questions asked –  and get a video cameras in exchange. The organization travels from city to city holding events and free concerts in an effort to stop gun violence. The dates have yet to be announced.

In the meantime, Monch will be killing it on stage this weekend at the Coachella Festival and is creating quite a buzz with his contribution to the remix of Amy Winehouse’s hit “Rehab” where he criticizes the rehab trend in Hollywood. Plus his album is heavily anticipated by hungry hip-hop heads.

"I’ve never been so free with my creativity before," Monch said in a recent statement. "I’m excited about this new album because everything feels so fresh, almost as if I were a new artist. I’m taking it to whole new places, hip-hop, rock, and gospel. It’s all there and it’s all sides of me."
