It’s been a long seven years since Pharoahe Monch dropped his excellent debut, Internal Affairs. Although rumors of him signing to Aftermath Records never came to fruition, he’s been surviving by doing shows and working in the lab on his follow-up.

Monch is now signed to Steve Rifkind’s SRC Records and announced that his new album, Desire, is definitely slated to drop during the first half of 2007. The album features production from Mr. Porter (Kon-Artist of D12), The Alchemist, Detroit‘s Black Milk and Lee Stone.

“I think the approach I took to making some of the songs is still underground," Monch said. "But in terms of the arrangements and the song-writing, I wouldn’t say it’s commercial, but it’s a bigger approach than I’ve taken in the past.”
