So apparently Plies was rolling deep to the 107.9 Birthday Bash.  Supposedley he was surronded by 50 models wearing “Becky” t-shirts on stage while he distributed $50,000 from a duffle bag to the crowd.  I guess it was all in an effort to support his latest single “Plenty Money” off his last album Da REAList“Becky” is off of his next album Goon Affiliated dropping later this year.  This dude stays dropping albums.

I think he’s dropped like 4 in the past two years.  While I find the stunt funny and amusing it seems a little unecceary considering the current economic climate.  I think it could have been a better look if Plies took his “Plenty Money” and gave 50 G’s to a charity of some sort.  You’re more likely to actually help people who need it that way.

.

Plus by now everyone should know I have beef with Plies because he’s kind of a fraud. He claims to be this super goon,  king of the goons or whatever.  But in reality his real name is Algernod, and he has a degree from the University Of South Florida.  Plus he never even got arrested until after he was a famous rapper.

I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound partivullarly Goonish to me.  There is nothing wrong with not getting arrested and getting a college degree unless you are pretending to be some sort of a super thug.  I mean Plies is smart, but it’s simply all an act.  It’s important to me that you kids acknowledge that.

  1. Perspective, you can suggest its an act but have you tested dude? Don’t let a degree and a clean record fool you, kid could be nice with the hands. You never know.

I don’t care if what he says is anymore “real” then half these other cats making music. Its entertainment and you as a journalist covering the hip hop world should already have that understanding.

I recognize that as a journalist its your job to write things of this nature but, lets be honest, why is it soooo surprising to people to find out that rap artists do not live the day to day life they talk about in their music?

Just my two cents, not a personal attack on you.

  2. Ya you recognize that but some people don’t. At the end of the day who is the winner? Plies because even though I was talking shit about him he just got more promotion. This dude is going to “win” regardless of what I say. Like I said, Plies ain’t stupid.

  3. Perspective i really dont like the way u used the word beef when you were talking. This man is a very successful businessman doing what he does. Everyone in the industry lies about what they do and what they will do. its just my opinion tho!

  4. Perspective, I agree with you there are many people who dont recognize it or fail to acknowledge it and there by glorifying what these artist talk about to younger children who then find themselves trying to live that lifestyle and end up doing 20-life before they even hit 20 years old. Preciate the response bruh, keep up the good articles.
