As the lead producer for the collective, 99 Neighbors, Somba breaks barriers between genres. His styles range from trap music to melodically driven music, incorporating acoustic guitars and airy synths. His style is minimal, yet his records never feel empty – Somba brings them to life using a beautiful balance of instruments and infectious drum bounce.
99 Neighbors has built impressive chemistry as a collective. Somba’s versatile production always keeps their music fresh and you can never be quite sure what to expect from them. Songs like “Fuck No” and “Fake Pods” will leave you slowly and steadily grooving, while others like “Guts” and “Ripstik” bring head-banging energy. Regardless of their direction, 99 Neighbors has a unique cohesion that makes all of their music a great listening experience. We are excited to see what 2021 holds for the Vermont based collective.
