Defense attorneys for R. Kelly have asked a judge to postpone the R&B singer’s trial on child pornography charges.
Jury selection is scheduled to begin on Friday — and that’s the earliest Judge Vincent Gaughan could rule on the motion to delay the trial.
More than 30 pretrial motions have already contributed to a six-year delay…..
Pornography charges against the 41-year-old Kelly were prompted by a videotape allegedly showing him having sex with a girl as young as 13. Kelly has pleaded not guilty.
"Every waking moment, he’s always had this hanging over his head," spokesman Allan Mayer said. "He’s confident that when all the evidence comes out he’ll be shown not to be guilty of any crime."
Robert, faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
