Even though Raekwon’s “Only Built for Cuban Linx II,” was promised a 2007 release it looks like it might be early 2008. In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Raekwon said that he had to put his solo album on “freeze” because he had to work on the new Wu-Tang Clan album, “8 Diagrams,” due out November 13, which is also the third anniversary of Ol Dirty Bastard’s death.

"I guess RZA stressed to the people he had to about how much that date meant to us," Raekwon told Billboard.com. "It’s like just thinking about our brother, just wanting to keep him around us mentally, y’know?"

Rae did say that Cuban Linx 2 is 99 percent finished and will feature production from Dr. Dre, RZA, and J. Dilla. For the moment however, he’s currently promoting his new group, Ice Water, whose debut album, “Raekwon Presents… Ice Water: Polluted Water,” drops on August 28. The album features appearances from Method Man, Busta Rhymes, Three 6 Mafia, Jagged Edge and others.
