On Thursday October 30, 2014 the 2014 Power 105.1 Powerhouse took place at Brooklyn’s Barclay Center, the home of the Brooklyn Nets. iHipHop.com was on-hand to document the event, which featured performances by Jeezy (with special guest Jay Z), J. Cole, French Montana, Migos, Childish Gambino, and more. Click through this slideshow to see photos of the nights events. All photos by Lauren Gesswein.
While Bobby Shmurda and his GS9 mates are still locked up behind bars that hasn't stopped them from going full Gucci Mane on everybody by dropping tracks while incarcerated. Little is known as far as their legal situation (although it is said that their bail has been denied and many attempts to revoke the decision have been put in place) but as far as music they've been steadily releasing some new material to keep their names buzzing in them streets (and blogs, I guess.) You can peep a new Bobby Shmurda cut in "Get a Room for Ya" after the jump. It features GS9 mate Rowdy Rebel and one Abillyon.
Despite GS9's Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel being locked up on various charges that hasn't stopped the streets from showing their support and love via freestyles/remixes. And while "Hot N***a" has been freestyled/remixed to death Lil Herb goes the other route by freestyling over "Computers" their lesser known single. Check out the visuals after the jump.
While Brooklyn's GS9 crew attempts to figure out their legal strategies (seeing as how practically all their members have been indicted on charges stemming from guns to drugs to conspiracy to commit murder) their street team isn't wasting any time capitalizing on the recent tabloid fodder headlines as they begin to release vaulted music. Right now we're getting Rowdy Rebel's "She All About the Shmoney" featuring (alleged) GS9 ringleader Bobby Shmurda and Cali's raunchy legend Too $hort. Listen after the jump.
Rich the Kid got that heat on the way for all you trappers out there. First his collaborative mixtape with Migos Streets on Lock 5 drops later today (November 5th) and then he will follow that up with his solo effort Rich Than Famous in December. But what Rich the Kid has for you here is a team up with Brooklyn's Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel. Listen to "On My Way" after the jump!
The 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards have wrapped up and though we're sure you'd rather be watching the cyphers the live performances aren't that bad. And this year BET brought out the big guns of the modern era, including Bobby Shmurda, Young Thug, Rich Homie Quan, and Migos. Perhaps the biggest takeaway during this was that the young stalwart from the ghettos of East NY, Brooklyn Bobby Shmurda closed the event with his hit single "Hot N***a", an incredible feat for someone who literally blew up over the summertime. Check out the live videos after the jump.
