While you sit and wait for Gunplay to announce the official release date for his debut studio album Living Legend, the Miami rapper has been steady feeding the streets and blogs regardless. And we thank Don Logan for the free meals as they've been keeping us full, for sure. And today is no exception as Gunplay unleashes a track with Cormega, a collaboration we would have never expected. Cormega and Large Professor teamed up for Mega Philosophy, a kind of manifesto on the music today and the wheres, whys, and hows of its significance. "Industry" in particular is a great lead-off to these themes, both praising the genre for its ascendant ethos and offering some criticism of its contradictions. Roc Marciano reveals the official tracklisting for his highly anticipated Marci Beaucoup LP, which is set for a December 10 release. This looks like a good one as guests are set to include Action Bronson, Alchemist, Boldy James, Quelle Chris, Blu, Freeway, Cormega, Ka and more. On Sunday July 28, 2013, the world renowned Rock Steady Crew held it’s 36th Anniversary celebration in Central Park, NYC. The event featured a reunion performance by Pete Rock & CL Smooth, as well as performances by Brand Nubian, Cormega, Special Ed, Craig G, The Arsonists, Homeboy Sandman and more. The show also featured DJ sets from DJ Premier, Tony Touch, Evil Dee, and DJ Eclipse, DJ JS-1. Of course, the highlight of the event was an incredible breakdance performance from the entire Rock Steady Crew. Click through this slideshow to see all of the highlights of that day’s event.
