Jake Gyllenhaal will star in the upcoming boxing film, Southpaw. It's due out in theaters July 24th and in anticipation for the film's release, Eminem is teaming up with DJ Khalil for a song inspired by the motion picture. Fashawn is continuing his monumental rollout for his forthcoming album The Ecology (due out February 24th) and after having already shared "Guess Who's Back" and most recently "Out the Trunk" he is sharing the heavyweight featured cut "Something to Believe In." And by heavyweight we mean one of the all-time rap greats, Nasir Jones. In addition, Aloe Blacc makes an appearance and the track is produced by the always excellent DJ Khalil. Listen after the jump.
Eminem raps against Call of Duty on a projection screen in a more than fitting video for his "Survival" single with Lisa Rodrigues. This is actually exactly what Em stans do when they play this song in their mom's basement.
KRNDN, formerly Krondon, of Strong Arm Steady lets lose his first solo studio album, Everything's Nothing, for Free99. Despite being the same person, KRNDN's spelling change has also brought forth a change in sound. The mood of this Free LP varies greatly from what we've come to except from KNRND; there's an absence of the West Coast boom-bap sound that SAS has become known for, as the instrumentals tend to be a little more futuristic on this release. Everything's Nothing features production from the likes Cardo, DJ Khalil, 321 and DJ Dahi. Hit the jump for the track list, previews and the download link.
