Video: Chris Rock Calls My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy the “Greatest Hip-Hop Album of All-Time”

9 years ago view-show 2,979,306

Legendary comedian Chris Rock is certainly no stranger to hip-hop. The South Carolina born, Brooklyn raised comedian has published a list on his website documenting his 25 favorite rap albums, cowrote and starred in the 1993 film CB4 which parodies gangsta rap, appeared on rap songs by Ludacris, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and Ice Cube, and in the past has even criticized contemporary rap. But perhaps Chris Rock's hip-hop pinnacle was reached in 2010 when he appeared on Kanye West's now magnum opus album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Rock was asked by 'Ye to appear on the song "Blame Game," in which Rock provided an extended monologue. So maybe Rock is a little bit biased when he recently called Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy as the "greatest hip-hop album of all-time" in a HOT 97 interview. Check out the full interview after the jump to see what else Chris Rock had to say.

New Music: Freddie Gibbs & Mike Dean – “Sellin’ Dope”

Last year footage surfaced of Freddie Gibbs and Mike Dean working "in the lab" and ever since then very little additional information has been given regarding that session. Now Gangsta Gibbs has shared a new track entitled "Sellin' Dope" which gives artist credit to Mike Dean. Our guess is Mike Dean, who is a hip-hop producer and certainly no rapper (best known for working with Kanye West), produced the cut. The track is absolutely menacing, both in production and in overall concept/theme as Dean's ominous ghastly beat perfectly suits Gibbs' aggressive flow and hyper-realistic subject matter (yes, sellin' dope). The track will appear on the Grand Theft Auto V next-gen iteration. Listen after the jump!

New Music: Pusha T – “Lunch Money” (Prod. Kanye West)

Pusha season approaching! After dropping his stellar debut full length My Name Is My Name, Virginia's number one dope boy spitter Pusha Ton begins rolling out his King Push campaign. And today we are grateful to receive "Lunch Money", a bombastic and downright straight outta left-field (even more so than last year's insane "Numbers on the Board"? Maybe) cut produced by the always unpredictable Kanye West. While Pusha does his thing, spitting hot fire it's truly Yeezus' production that stands out as the reason you'll be listening to this one. 'Ye's beat here is equipped with unorthodox, disorienting sounds, but all those outrageous nuances are built around a very funky pulse. Listen after the jump.

New Music: Ludacris – “Numbers on the Board” Freestyle

Ludacris has already excused his absence when he ripped Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N***a" a new one, then he proceeded to give Makonnen's smash hit "Tuesday" a bit of the ol' hardcore gangsta treatment it so desperately needed. So, we suppose it's only natural that Luda continues his recent streak by going off on another 'throwback' track. This time he's spitting bars over Pusha T's clicky-clanky industrial "Numbers on the Board" beat from his excellent My Name Is My Name album. Listen after the jump.
