On Monday March 2, 2015, New York’s very own Cannibal Ox celebrated the release of their highly-awaited sophomore album “Blade of the Ronin” with fans at the Studio at Webster Hall. Vast Aire and Vordul Mega were joined by GZA (of Wu-Tang Clan), Freeway, and G-Jet for this monumental performance. The event was hosted by Rob Markman, with music by DJ Two-Three. For the sixth episode of Saturday Night Live's 40th anniversary season Top Dawg Entertainment's star pupil Kendrick Lamar hit the stage as the musical guest alongside guest host Woody Harrelson. Kendrick performed two songs, one being his radio hit, The Isley Brothers sampled "i" and Jay Rock's "Pay for It". For "i" Kendrick took the stage with unkempt hair and blacked-out contacts (see: above photo), making reference to Method Man whose debut record Tical was released 20 years ago that day.
