When Port Arthur, Texas rapper Pimp C passed away in 2007, he left behind a legacy spanning over two decades. During his time in UGK, Pimp rapped and produced some of the group's most memorable songs; from their watershed 1996 album Ridin' Dirty to "International Players Anthem (I Choose You)" in 2007 -- the year of his untimely death -- his music will certainly live on forever. All things considered, it's only right for a posthumous Pimp album to ultimately manifest today. “This album is the culmination of years of work from not just me, but also the amazing artists and producers who contributed to make it happen,” his widow Chinara Butler says of Long Live the Pimp. “It combines several of the ideas and projects my husband began before his untimely passing. We hope the Trill fans enjoy it.” And with guests that include Bun B, Nas, T.I., Juicy J, A$AP Rocky, Slim Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, and many more, Long Live the Pimp is a 17-track long effort that will not only keep long time fans of Pimp C (and UGK) satisfied but give new listeners a taste of what made him so special to the rap game. Nas as a featured artist is a rare occasion these days. Hell, a Nas verse in general is as rare as candy these days. When he's not helping the burgeoning Mass Appeal with their inner workings, Nas is assisting rappers like Dave East with some hot bars. And that's precisely what we've got here in "Forbes List," a track that's set to appear on East's forthcoming Hate Me Now (also a nod to Nasty Nas, duh!) on Mass Appeal. It's due out October 2nd and will feature guest spots from the likes of Pusha T, Jahlil Beats, Jadakiss, and Styles P. But the track you're probably looking to hear is the Nas featured "Forbes List," which you may bump after the jump.

Queens' Julian Stephen is back with "Simple Minds," his follow-up video to "Sophisticated Thoughts" which he dropped back in November. "Simple Minds" follows in the same blueprint as "Sophisticated Thoughts" as Julian delivers lively bars showcasing his youthful exuberance. The visuals presented in "Simple Minds" find Julian in the same headspace as in "Sophisticated Thoughts" as well as he busks around NYC, simply enjoying life, and being carefree. If the instrumental to "Simple Minds" sounds familiar that's because it's Nas' "Nas Is Like" from 1998. Peep the visuals to Julian Stephen's "Simple Minds" freestyle after the jump.
