Energy meets more energy.

Tee Grizzley is having a moment. A diverse talent who has a surprisingly enchanting singing voice given his rugged raps, Tee leveraged potential longterm prison time for his breakout album complete with singles, “First Day Out” and “No Effort”.

Meek Mill is also having a moment. A man who was teetering on the edge of irrelevancy after being bested (twice) by Drake has swung back admirably with his latest album, Wins and Losses. It’s an honest body of work that depicts the wave and trough process of ascending the steps of success.

Now, the two have revealed in each other’s moments by connecting on the track, “Beef”.

There are two schools of thoughts for artists collaborating on a track: 1) one of the artist offers a drastically different style than the other to give the track and “opposites attract” vibe; 2) one artists comes in hard, and the second one comes in even harder. “Beef” is a case of the ladder.

This hard-hitting track discusses Tee and Meek’s inability to sleep on guys who are looking to cause trouble—their eyes are everywhere, and they’re going to take matters into their own hands. Authenticity pours out of the menacing bars as the two describe their plans for someone even thinking about crossing them. Pair these piercing words with an ominous beat, and we have the energizing, gritty track, “Beef”.
