We previously reported that the investigation into the death of Christopher Wallace (better known as The Notorious B.I.G.) was re-opened.   Now, recently unsealed documents suggest that the lead investigator on The Notorious B.I.G.’s murder case was actually involved in an elaborate cover up.  According to documents, David Mack had ties to Death Row Records and was on the scene at The Peterson Automotive Museum in L.A. on the night of Big’s killing.

This news came to light when Mack’s former partner, Rafael Perez, told an inmate in the L.A. County Jail about Mack’s involvement.  Reports indicate that the inmate said, “Perez was working security. Perez had a cell phone. Perez said he called over to Mack, David Mack on his cell phone. Perez told Mack that Biggie Smalls was in his truck. Perez never said that he set up Biggie Smalls but I have heard that he…had something to do with that murder” Both Perez and Mack were imprisoned for various crimes such as robbery and cocaine possession in the year following Wallace’s murder.

It would be a landmark if Big’s killer was nabbed.  Most notably 2pac, Big L and Stack Bundles ‘ murders have also remained unsolved.
