The war against online pirating just took an interesting turn. Universal Music Group is suing online video sites like Bolt and Grouper for allowing their users to share copyrighted music videos. The company seeks damages up to $150,000 for each incident of copyright infringement plus costs.

The suits accuse Grouper Network Inc and Bolt of engendering the infringement by copying, reformatting, distributing and creating derivative works from Universal\’s artists.
