Details On Gucci’s Jail Time

After the unexpected news of the people’s favorite Gucci Mane being sent to prison for a year. Details emerged on the reason behind his incarceration which is due to parole violation. Gucci reportedly tested positive for both cocaine and marijuana on several different occasions. MTV reports:

Gucci’s probation for a 2005 aggravated-assault case was revoked because the flamboyant rapper has not completed a court-ordered 600 hours of community service, he’s tested positive for marijuana and cocaine during visits to his probation officer and he has not been getting the proper permission to travel as mandated previously by the judge. Gucci’s Lawyer told the court yesterday “he was on a road to recovery in terms of being clean and sober,” explained Thomas, who also represented T.I. in his recent gun case. “[He is] alcohol free and weed free. … He’s also dealing with the emotional issue of killing somebody. He’s been in counseling and therapy.”

Gucci only completed 25 hours of his 600 hour community service and was sent back to Fulton County Jail in ATL for 12 months, but has the chance to only serve six with good behavior.

Despite being locked up, Gucci released a new tack “Lemonade” and his new album The State Vs. Radric Davis is set to hit stores December 8th. Make sure you go out and cop that and don’t forget to cop some free Gucci shirts while your at it.

Clipse Is Not Happy With MTV

MTV’s been hyping up releasing new videos with their “teaser poster” ads, but the latest one for the Clipse’s “Popular Demand” has the rap duo upset. Malice even took it to his twitter to express his discontent saying:

“This add is COONRAGEOUS!!!!!!”

“And they have the nerve to forget the HOT SAUCE!!!!!!”

I must say the add ad is a bit “coonrageous”, but what more do you expect from MTV. More importantly though make sure you check out the video “Popular Demand”, which debuted today and is directed by Rik Cordero and features Killa Cam.

Jay-Z Signing A Rock Group?

Jay-Z has reportedly signed the rock oriented group The Ting Tings to his new  Live Nation-backed Roc Nation company, which has a distribution deal with Sony Music. They are the first rock group to be added to the company’s roster and Jay has decided to bring the group under his wing. A source close to the rapper explained Jay’s surprising addition, saying:

Jay is hoping to lend his production skills to some of the new material, the staccato rhythmic style of The Ting Tings sits well with what he does best, so that was the attraction. Jay can make them one of the biggest British bands across the pond.”

The Tings Tings are now at work on their sophomore album and Jay even apparently plans to work with the group on the recording.
