Drizzy invited a few folks from Universal Music to preview some tracks off his upcoming debut and according to them the album: “Sounds like a monster. It was really good stuff and Drake is a nice kid.”
They gave a run down of how the album is looking so far which you can peep below (props to Thisis50.com). The album should be dropping in the coming months, so be on the lookout.
1) There’s a song on the disc called “Fireworks” that has the greatest beat ever. Drake has this sidekick producer called 40, and he’s talented. I met him as well this afternoon and he’s also a good kid. He’s about to be very, very busy. “Fireworks” has a hook on it courtesy of Kings of Leon. It’s catchy.
2) There is a Kanye West–produced track on the album that comes with a story. The track was made by Kanye for Beyonce, but Drake really wanted it so he wrote her a handwritten letter asking if he could use it. She read it and thought it was sweet and e–mailed him to give her permission. It’s a great track.
3) There’s a Jay–Z/Drake track that he played for us – minus Jay’s verse. Jay–Z doesn’t let anyone hear his stuff before it comes out. Drake claims it is the greatest verse Jay’s ever done.
4) I think the final track on the album is called “Thank Me Now” or something. He played us a recorded verse then did another one live and it was one of the best. Really cool.
5) He sings on a bunch of tracks on the album.
6) This Saturday Drake will be in L.A. doing a track with Dr. Dre and Eminem.
7) Yes, there is a Timbaland beat on the album.
It is highly possible that the biggest album of 2010 will be from a Canadian, and his name will be Drake.

Floyd Jr. opened up in a recent interview and discussed his beef with rapper Rick Ross. The two recently squashed it and Floyd explained what sparked the initial conflict, which supposedly all started on Ross’ “Mafia Music”. Floyd says:
“All I’ll say is this, I never had anything disrespectful to say to Rick Ross. I guess he went on record talking about ‘The Mayweather money look funny when it comes to the light,’ I’m looking at it like I got a two-fight deal, 115 million, it’s nothing, 60 minutes of work — I don’t front, what I’m doing is really what I say I’m doing. Everything I got is paid for, 17 million dollar mansion — and the thing is this, I never disrespected him, so he came off real disrespectful, I responded — at the Puffy party, I asked him let me know what it really is and he kinda leaned back a little bit, I guess he don’t really want no problem. A lot of times you hear rappers rapping about certain things, so I guess it really just is on wax, so Puffy said ‘Ah he’s just talking Floyd, don’t worry about that.’ But then I told Puffy, if you would have took the Biggie and Tupac beef serious, then both of those rappers would still be here. That’s why I don’t take no beef light. But like I said, I’m not going out looking for problems.”
I definitely wouldn’t compare the beef between Floyd and Ross with Biggie and Pac…Maybe Ross and 50, but thats really died down and I’m sure they’ll squash it soon too…
Pharrell is known for being a top collaborator, but his latest is a little hard to believe.
