Young Roddy has been on a tear lately. He has released multiple records since September and he’s not slowing down now, even as the year comes to an end. On his latest single with Killer Mike, “Amen,” the Jet Life co-founder puts his patented soulful, sample-driven production aside for an up-tempo trap beat. Although it’s their first collaboration, Roddy and Killer Mike mesh seamlessly, producing a record that fans of Jet Life and Run The Jewels alike will have on repeat.

The track is produced by Roddy’s label-mate Iceberg Black, also known as Ice, who boasts an eye-catching resume. Ice lays the foundation with an ambient, ominous melody backed by hard-hitting drums, allowing Roddy and Killer Mike to attack the beat head-on with their strong delivery and lyrical expertise. They don’t miss a beat as they exchange verses. Roddy knew this track would be special, and as such, there would no better fit for the feature than the legend himself, Killer Mike.

“This track is meant to motivate people to succeed for themselves, their families, and their teams at the highest level,” says Roddy of “Amen.” “Having Killer Mike on the track is next level. He’s a legend in my eyes because he stands for something that’s bigger than music. I respect that to the fullest.”

Roddy’s strong finish to this year will roll into next year, as his next solo album “Never Question God” will be released in February 2022. He’s experimenting with different production, yet also delivering the patented soulful sound he created with Curren$y as they built the Jet Life movement from the ground up. It’s a carefully curated album, which sees Roddy tap notable and unexpected artists for dynamic collaborations. With “Amen,” Roddy gives listeners a glimpse of what’s to come.
