I am yet to appreciate the power that Jim Jones actually has it would appear as I was shocked as hell when I heard he was given a new title at Koch yesterday, Vice President of A&R. It’s one thing to put music out through a label but is a job like that even necessary when you are still trying to get your rap career off the ground? The Dipset member as a rapper is enough to make me go hmmm but as an A&R at the biggest indie label in the US, come on now. Of course Jimmy is a proud as punch at the new appointment saying “It feels good to know that the hard work has been recognized by the same people that have helped me get to this point in my career. They recognize that I’m not only an artist but a person that can smell talent and be able to mold a superstar.” Does Jim know what it takes to mold a superstar when he ain’t even a superstar himself though?
But didn’t he have some A&R role over at Warner too, which amounted to nothing. Next thing you know Dame Dash will be making his way over to Koch too.
