Joell Ortiz Once Again A “Free Agent”

It’s been nearly three years since Joell Ortiz took his papers and left Aftermath for greener pastures at E1 Entertainment (formerly known as Koch).  With successive delays of his highly-anticipated Free Agent LP and struggles to receive clearance to appear on other artist’s albums, Joell once again left a label, reporting via Twitter that he is officially done with E1.  As of press time, no other statement was issued by Joell or E1.  Despite a serious lack of promotion on behalf of the label, there are plans to release Free Agent on November 30th.  The album features production from DJ Premier, Large Professor, Novel, and more.  Joell has proven time and time again that he can be successful on an independent level and is worthy of a label getting behind him (the independently released Slaughterhouse album debuted at #25 on the Billboard 200 in 2009).  Who knows where Mr. Ortiz will end up next…we’ll keep you posted.
